Louisiana Tech University works with Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) to provide value to our merchandise through their licensing services. The licenses below map out what each service of license requires and if you are eligible to receive it.
Retail license
This license allows the production of products using the trademarks and name of Louisiana Tech University through retail outlets that focus on direct-to-consumer, University departments, and related entities.
Companies applying for a retail license must exhibit well-established marketing plans, existing product distribution, solid financial history of selling licensed products and are introducing unique and commercially viable product to the collegiate market.

Internal license
This license allows a company to produce products using the trademark of Louisiana Tech University for the specific units and divisions within the University. The producer cannot provide products at retail or direct-to-consumer.

Crafter’s License
Louisiana Tech University has partnered with CLC’s Community Connect to offer a crafter’s license program to benefit the local craftsperson and provide them with an opportunity to use their creativity without infringing on the University’s trademarks. It also allows Louisiana Tech to maintain the integrity of its brand.

NCAA/Bowls/Conference License
This is a special license for companies that wish to obtain rights to use the trademark for the NCAA, bowl games, or athletic conferences and usage for the licensed products, either alone or in coordination with the usage of these trademarks. There is a separate licensing process for such rights.

Requirements
In addition to those requirements outlined above, licensees need to maintain the appropriate level of insurance, applicable affiliations with the Fair Labor Association if required, pay for any needed royalty advances or minimum guarantees, and fulfill any additional requirements put in place by the institution.
